“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
For me, life is all about experiences. There is nothing I love more than having fun and trying something new. Novel experiences are my happy place. I have always been a kid at heart in that respect. Even in my 20s, when all my friends celebrated their birthdays at restaurants or clubs, I always wanted to do something different – an activity of sorts, something new, refreshing and fun! Ceramic painting, horseback riding, jewelry-making, glow-in the dark mini-putt, laser-tag, etc. Yes, these sound like children’s parties, but they were, in fact, all things I did to celebrate myself as an adult and let me tell you – It was always a good time!
Becoming a mother comes with many blessings, but one of my favorite perks of having kids is that I always have someone to do fun things with! Even things I have done before, become like new as I get to experience them again through the eyes of my children and that is such a special feeling. There is nothing that fills my soul more than sharing special experiences with my family, and that can range from something as major as a family trip to something as simple as lying in bed together watching TV on a rainy Sunday morning.
That’s why I named my blog Experiencing Motherhood – it’s a place to share real life experiences. Here you will see all the fun activities and events we participate in, which I hope inspire you in some way, but you will also find the not so fun side of experiencing motherhood – like the stresses and overwhelm because experience isn’t always all fun, however at the end of the day, whether good or bad, it is our experiences in life that define us. They create memories, make us stronger, mold our personality, and that is why they are so important to me, and why I choose to share them with you. I look forward to connecting with you on all these shared experiences of modern motherhood – the ups, the downs and the in-betweens.
